Opposition party ODM leaders drawn from Kisii County have advised Jubilee Party not to waste their resources campaigning in Gusii region.

Led by Kisii County governor James Ongwae, the leaders noted that Gusii region is a NASA stronghold and residents are gearing up to vote for the outfit's presidential candidate Raila Odinga during the forthcoming general elections.

“Raila is tried and tested. Kenya cannot have another five years of Jubilee leadership. The cost of living has become unbearable to the majority of Kenyans,” he said during a political rally on Tuesday.

On his part, former Cabinet Minister Sam Ongeri dismissed claims that the region is a swing vote, asserting that the two counties are firmly in NASA.

“We have locked Jubilee out of Gusiiland. They will be very lucky if they get 10 per cent this time. Do not waste your vote on Jubilee because they are on their way out," he said.

Ongeri is eyeing the Kisii senatorial seat on an ODM Party ticket.
