The political showdown at the South Coast pitting Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori and Gambato Bongwe Ward MCA Omar Iddi who is also the ODM Secretary General in Kwale County in the race for the Orange party ticket to run for the MP seat during the August 8 polls ended in favour of the incumbent, Dori.
According to the results which were announced on Sunday, Dori trounced his rival by a narrow margin of only 815 votes having garnered 2,780 against Boga's 1,965.However, Boga has dismissed the results, claiming that the whole nominations process was marred with irregularities which compromised the credibility of the exercise, and called for the nullification of the results.Boga who was speaking after the announcement of the final tally threatened to mobilize residents to ditch the party should the Orange House uphold Dori's win in the exercise that was rocked with chaos. While warning of dire consequences including loss of ground support, Boga asked Raila Odinga who is the ODM Party leader to intervene and unlock the deadlock which he says will have a bearing on his (Raila's) Presidential bid. Before the nominations, Boga and Dori had engaged in public spats which each one accusing the other of planning to rig the nominations.
