Fresh graduates and even experienced professionals always struggle to find the best way to list qualifications on their resume.
While its good to be creative on some occasions, it is more important to be strategic in this particular case.
Whether you have graduated from a prestigious school, switched colleges during a 4-year degree program or left your thesis incomplete due to some reason, you need to be aware of dos and don’ts of listing such information on your CV.
The goal is to get what you want.
1.Do not lie
Lying is not the best way to get a job. If you haven’t finished your degree you should go ahead and state in on your CV “Degree incomplete”.It shows some level of trustworthiness in you.
2.Qualifications that matter the most should appear first on your CV.
As a standard rule, you should first list the advanced degrees on your CV followed by other certifications, diplomas and course programs.
3.Only mentioned where you graduated from.
Do not mention all the institutions you switched before graduating. The person looking at your CV does not need all that information.
4.Let the recruiter know if you have not completed your degree.
If a thesis required for the fulfillment of the award of your degree is not complete, you should state it on your CV. The reviewer is not going to judge you.
