A 6-year-old girl died on Saturday after a vehicle ran over her in Moturumesi village, Rigoma Masaba North.
It alleged that the minor was playing under the vehicle that was at the parking at a funeral when the incident happened.
Witnesses said the driver didn’t see the minor under the vehicle when he came to drive away the vehicle from the parking.
“The driver to the killer vehicle was driving the vehicle from the parking to ferry mourners who had came to console the bereaved family.
"The minor was unable to escape since she was under the vehicle playing. The vehicle ran over her,” said Shem Mogendi.
Mogendi said the minor could not survive because her head was crushed.
“The minor was rushed to hospital but she succumbed to injuries because her head was crushed by the vehicle,” he noted. The minor’s body was taken to Nyamira County hospital mortuary.
