With workers across the county going on strike due to unpaid dues, Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama will spend more weeks in US following doctors recommendation.
Workers went on strike on Wednesday withe the county insisting head-count first before clearing May salaries.
A family source who spoke in confidence also said the county boss may have to wait longer before burying his son, Ndemo Nyagarama, who passed away on Monday.
"He will have to stay in US for long. Doctors think that his health is unstable and this may delay his flight back home.
"Also, one of the son is doing examination and this even pushes funeral arrangement of the deceased a little bit longer," said the source.
For over a month now, Nyagarama has been battling an ailment in the US with sources saying the death of his son may have distabilised him further.
The second term governor has witnessed a series of controversies since taking over in 2013 and has since handed over to his deputy Amos Nyaribo albeit temporarily.
