Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) as a threat to Jubilee Party (JP) in the South Rift region.
DP Ruto exuded confidence that JP will be the party of choice in the region in next year’s polls.
“I will not sit back and allow any other party to take control of this region from us,” he said.
Governor Ruto has been at loggerheads with JP and occasionally engaging the Deputy President in a public spat.
The former council of governors had earlier said CCM is the alternative political outfit in Rift Valley.
“We will invest in Rift Valley because nobody is ready to be auctioned as some individuals are trying to do. The future is in CCM and we will get more big names soon,” he said.
