The government is this week set to roll out the second phase of the last mile electricity connectivity project.
Deputy President William Ruto says the move is aimed at ensuring more Kenyans have access to electricity.
Speaking at Moiben during the homecoming of State Department of Trade Principal Secretary Dr. Chris Kiptoo on Sunday, DP Ruto said the second phase will be implemented at Sh15 billion.
"Our aim is to ensure that every household rich or poor is connected with electricity," he said.
In Uasin Gishu, Sh800 million has been set aside for the second phase with the Deputy President saying the project will be scaled up to ensure all Kenyans across the country are reached.
Ruto further said Kenyans living near transformers will be connected to power for free.
He, however, urged politicians to stop 2022 politics but instead concentrate on development saying "we will cross the bridge when we reach there."
