Ford Kenya, a party led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is a house in disarray.
The political outfit is tearing apart.
The current fractious status of the party is putting the Senator's presidential bid into jeopardy as one group plans to oust him as party leader.
According to politicians allied to Mr Wetangula, Deputy President William Ruto is responsible for dissent rocking the party.
They accuse him of funding the 'rebel' group led by activist Ken Wafula.
Kwanza MP Ferdinand Wanyonyi on Tuesday claimed Wafula who has set his eyes on the Trans Nzoia Senate seat has been receiving huge chunks of money from Ruto's allies in a bid to destabilize the party.
"We have information he has been receiving money from Ruto to fight Wetangula, but that will not work," Wanyonyi was quoted by the Star as saying.
In a quick re-battle, Wafula refuted the claims that he is funded by Ruto to wedge a political war against Wetangula.
"They have linked me to Ruto and so many people. However, that is escapist. Let them tackle problems in Ford Kenya," Wafula said.
Wetangula has since been endorsed as the party's presidential flag bearer in the 2017 elections.
