For the first time in as many months, Deputy President William Ruto has admitted that Kenya’s future looks uncertain adding that ‘only prayers’ can rescue the situation.
At a prayer function in Nakuru on Sunday, a rather humbled Ruto insisted ‘nobody knows’ what will happen after October 26th adding that the country has never been in such a crisis before.
“It is the first time the country had a presidential election nullified and this is the fourth incident in the world. No one even knows what will happen after elections,” he said.
Previously, Ruto had dismissed claims by opposition leader Raila Odinga that the country was in a crisis and ‘there is need for dialogue’.
Throughout his campaigns, Ruto has been vibrant throwing jibes at the opposition leader whom he claims that thrives in divide and rule politics.
“It is not such a good crisis and I urge all Kenyans to pray hard. As politicians, we should sit down and iron such fundamental issues that may divide us.”
Elsewhere in Trans Nzoia, Odinga urged his supporters to come out in large numbers in Tuesday and Wednesday protests adding that he will not recognize Thursday’s elections.
