Baringo Senator Gideon Moi is angry with Deputy President William Ruto over his recent move.

The DP on Saturday asked a Kanu Member of Parliament candidate to step down for a Jubilee Party aspirant.

Ruto asked Bruce Chitalu, who is the son of Chepalungu MP Paul Bii, to drop his bid in favour of Jubilee’s Joseph Tonui.

"Bruce, please. I am of the same age as your father. I beg you to step down and come for talks," Ruto said on June 3.

Ruto’s remarks did not go down well with the Kanu chairman, who has engaged the DP in public outbursts for a long time.

Gideon saw Ruto’s remarks as an attempt to water down his efforts to become the supreme leader in the Rift Valley.

He told the DP to stay away from Kanu affairs.

The senator had declared support for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid, but has maintained he does not support Ruto.
