Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV Tuesday, the DP said that he is happy to see the alliance coming together and forming a united front to battle his Jubilee side in the exercise slated for August 8, saying that it has finally agreed to follow Jubilee's example of shifting from ethnic politics.
''We have all along wanted to elevate our politics from ethnic to policy based and are happy to learn that our competitors too have noticed that and have come together to face us in a policy based battle,'' said Ruto who said that the team has finally accepted to follow Jubilee's earlier example of bringing together ethnic political outfits to create one national front.
''We showed the way by bringing over 13 parties together to make the strong Jubilee Party we are boasting of now and we can see something almost similar in the opposition,'' he said.
The alliance brings together 5 leaders drawn from different parties (ODM's Raila Odinga,Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper,Ford-Kenya's Moses Wetangula,Musalia Mudavadi of ANC and CCM's Isaac Ruto) and aims at sending home the Jubilee leadership.
It has since nominated Raila as its Presidential flag bearer and Kalonzo as his running mate with Ruto maintaining that Jubilee will still beat the team and secure a second term in office in the elections dated for August 8.
