Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has assured Deputy President William Ruto that Coast region will fully support his 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking to journalists  in Kwale Town on Sunday, Mvurya who ditched ODM and joined Jubilee party in 2015 said that Coast region is no longer an opposition zone.

She said that locals are fully behind Jubilee party and will overwhelmingly endorse Ruto’s bid when the time comes.

The Jubilee governor said that Coast locals are tired of oppressive politics perpetuated by the opposition.

The former Raila ally said that the region has gained nothing for years it has been supporting the opposition.

He asked residents to back President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government saying it has good plans for them.

“We want to assure out Deputy President William Ruto of our support come 2022 general election,” he said. The  Jubilee governor hailed President Kenyatta’s government progressive development agenda.

Mvurya asked locals not to be confused by NASA’s politics that he termed as baseless.

He said that Raila Odinga’s opposition has nothing to offer and should be ready for another mercilessly defeat in 2022.

The governor said that the future of coast region is in Jubilee urging cost politicians clinging on Raila to give their support to Uhuru.

While dismissing Raila’s persistence push on being sworn-in as president, Mvurya said that the former Prime Minister is dreaming.

The governor said that Raila did not wining any election g to demand being sworn in adding that he is courting trouble.

Mvurya asked NASA politicians to stop misleading Raila with hopes of being president.

The battle for 2022 politics is already shaping up as Ruto prepares to fly the Jubilee ticket.

The DP is said to be ‘fishing’ for a running mate with possible names among them Machakos governor Alfred Mutua, Anne Waiguru and former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba being fronted as his possible running mates in 2022.
