At Kwale on Monday, Ruto openly referred to a Chinese contractor 'Yule Mtu wa macho ndogo' and expression which has been interpreted by online users to be racist in nature.

Ideally, the DP associated the Chinese contractor tasked to do Matuga-Vanga road with 'small eyes' which are synonymous with Mongloids (people from Asia).

"I think he has taken his political jokes too far. He can't use such demeaning expressions some of which are racist of xenophobic in nature," wrote Sally Kipyego on Facebook.

On his part, Bradly Omondi added: "These are direct attacks to Chinese people. He should apologise and desist from engaging in such discrimination."

Earlier this month, Ruto was also put on spot when he appeared to refer to Meru community "people who only think after acting', remarks which also put him on defense on social media.

But besides Ruto, his boss, Uhuru Kenyatta, was also on the receiving end recently when he appeared to refer to his deputy as someone who 'roams aimlessly' across the country.
