Deputy President had a soft tone on opposition Raila Odinga for the first time in as many months when they shared platform at Kajiado during Joseph Nkaissery’s burial.

Although having worked together sometimes back, the relationship between the two had dwindled swiftly with their verbal jibes being common in political rallies.

During Madaraka Day recently at Nyeri, Ruto who was the Master of Ceremony snubbed Odinga, a move that led to fierce online debate about the relationship of the two allies cum foes.

But a careful DP invited Odinga to address mourners at Nkaissery’s Bisil home referring him to us ‘political mentor and former Prime Minister.

At Kisumu last week, Ruto had his speech periodically interrupted by rowdy youths who accused him of disrespecting his former boss.

Similarly, Odinga had tough times at Ruto’s Baringo home turf when locals disrupted his rally in what was seen as retaliation to Ruto’s Kisumu woes.

On Saturday evening, the two leaders would yet again meet at Moi Sports Centre- Kasarani to witness IAAF World Junior Championship even sharing light moments.
