The supremacy battle in the Rift Valley between Deputy President William Ruto and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto played out again when the latter accused the DP of using his position to amass wealth.
The outspoken governor has said that DP Ruto cannot be Kenya’s President.
“Ruto has been busy burning bridges and will not have anyone to fall back on. He has been trampling on everyone. Everyone is complaining,” he said as quoted by the Star.
He also dismissed the Jubilee Party, saying it has no future beyond 2017 polls.
“There will be no Jubilee in 2018. It will be as dead as PNU. It will be as dead as Narc,” he said on Tuesday.
The Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) leader said Central Kenya will abandon the Jubilee Party soon after the 2017 elections.
“It will be a joke to say they will support Ruto. No. It won’t happen, it can’t happen, it will never happen,” he said.
DP Ruto has announced his 2022 presidency bid.
Kiambu Governor William Kabogo and Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge had warned the DP that he might not get automatic support from Mt Kenya region voters come 2022.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and the DP have however dismissed sentiments that their political marriage will be short-lived.
The duo will be seeking a second term in office in 2017 general election.
