Deputy President William Ruto yet again faced hostility, which has marred most of his outings this year, on Tuesday when he toured Eastern part of Nairobi.
Last week, Rutto had torrid moments in his home turf Rift Valley after enduring difficult times in addressing a section of the supporters at Iten and Kipkelion regions.
He was campaigning for Jubilee aspirants in Nairobi at the Eastern part of the town and was in the company of Senator Mike Sonko and a host of aspirants.
At Tassia, Ruto was forced to retreat from his sunroof following ant Jubilee chants from a hostile crowd that questioned the ability of the government to control hunger.
Over the last month, Jubilee administration has been battling to contain hunger that has hit most parts across the country, a reason why the opposition has coined a slogan ‘Unga revolution’ in its campaigns.
Although no chaos was reported, a video circulating online shows Ruto’s motorcade speeding from the hostile crowd to another friendly destination.
Controversial SONU leader and Embakassi East ODM aspirant Babu Owino circulated the clip in his official Facebook page, warning Jubilee against campaigning in the region.
