(Photo/ Kenyatoday)Deputy President William Ruto has congratulated the NASA team for what he termed as being worthy opponent during the just concluded national elections.Speaking during the 54th Madaraka Day celebrations at the Moi Sports Complex-Kasarani , the Deputy President thanked all those who voted for President Kenyatta and him during the just concluded elections. "Uhuru is the only President who has won three elections in a span of five years," Ruto told the crowd. He reiterated that the Kenyan democracy was put on test and it emerged stronger out of it as all institutions were tested to the limit. The Deputy President said that it was time to put politics and elections behind and concentrate on building the nation.Speaking during the same forum, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko urged Kenyans to put politics behind them. The elaborate event saw Kenya Defence Forces carry out a trouping of colours ceremony which ended with a glittery display by Kenya Air force who lined up a wide variety of assets at their disposal in the air.Former Ghanain President Mahama was in attendance.The ceremony however saw low turn-out compared to President Uhuru's inauguration which saw many turned away due to space limitation.
