Deputy President William Ruto and his wife Rachel Ruto joined Uasin Gishu residents at the Eldoret Sports Club in song and dance to usher in the New Year, 2017.

The event was led by top comedian Eric Omondi and musician Emmy Kosgei.

“As we usher in 2017, we must remind ourselves that God has given us a great country,” DP Ruto said through his Twitter account

He added, “It is our responsibility to ensure that we preach peaceful co-existence and unity among Kenyans.”

Governors Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu) and Salim Mvurya (Kwale) were also present at the event.
