Deputy President William Ruto has challenged the National Super Alliance (NASA) elected leaders to resign and seek fresh mandate from the electorate if they believe that the IEBC conducted a sham election on August 8.
Speaking when Jubilee Party took its re-election campaigns to Bungoma County, Ruto said it is ironical that the Opposition politicians accepted to take the oath of office after being declared winners by the electoral body which they have continued to accuse of committing massive electoral malpractices.
NASA leaders led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula and his Siaya counterpart James Orengo have insisted that the IEBC cannot be trusted with conducting repeat presidential election ordered by the Supreme Court last week.
"Why are they now saying they have no faith in the same electoral commission that made them who they are now?" posed Ruto on Thursday.
The DP remarked further: "They should resign and seek fresh mandate from the voters if they have no faith in the electoral body."
Ruto who was accompanied by his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta ridiculed NASA for proposing next month poll should be conducted by the United Nations.
"It is laughable that now they want to bring foreigners to manage our internal affair. Kenya will move on even if they boycott the election," Ruto added.
