Deputy president William Ruto has urged NASA principal Raila Odinga to brace himself for the 2022 presidential race against him as he will be seeking to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The DP said Mr Odinga had made it clear he was not taking part in the October 26 repeat elections against President Kenyatta and that the repeat will be a formality based on the August 8 election nullification by the Supreme Court.
He said the NASA leader will now have enough time to campaign so as to face him and other Kenyans in the next general elections sincs he had bolded out of the race against his party leader, describing his as unprepared.
"Sasa yeye (Raila Odinga) wacha ajipange tukutane kwa debe 2022.Hii ya October tutafanya kama formality tueke Uhuru Kenyatta na ajipange kupambana na mimi," said William Ruto.
He added that on several occasions in the past he told the opposition leaders that they were not adequately set to win in the August polls that were nullified in court but they failed to heed.
Ruto termed that the repeat elections will be an opportunity for Mr Odinga to rehearse and have a plan on how he would prevent him from succeeding President Kenyatta through the ballot.
