Deputy President William Ruto has lashed out at the opposition coalition NASA as being ‘petty’ for swearing in their leader Raila Odinga as the ‘People’s President’ on Tuesday.

Speaking in Gatundu North, Kiambu County on Thursday Ruto said that the Jubilee government will not engage anyone in ‘theatrics’ since the country has to move forward.

“We will not engage anyone involving in theatrics, those who want to continue causing drama are on their own,” Ruto said.

He said that the government only has time to look at creating employment for the youth, improving health care and other development activities.

“The time we have now is to know how millions of youth will get employed, we have to undertake industrialization. We have to look at how we will not be affected by hunger again. We need to check on the matters of our health,” he further added.

Other Jubilee leaders among them the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale had dismissed Odinga’s swearing in as a ‘joke’ and ‘cheap publicity stunt’.

However the government through the CS for Interior has promised to crack the whip on the organizers of Raila swearing in terming it ‘illegal’.
