Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed opposition alliance NASA's claim that the outfit will garner more that 10million votes during the August polls.
Speaking in Narok County on Friday, Ruto observed that the opposition does not have the political clout that can marshal the numbers, adding that the outfit is attempting to sell "false hope" to its supporters.
He further noted that Jubilee Party has already made considerable inroads into what was perceived as opposition strongholds, citing defections of opposition politicians who have since shifted allegiance to the ruling party.
“That is wishful thinking and lying to their supporters,” Ruto said.
The Deputy President's remarks were reiterated by Narok governor Samuel Tunai who declared the County a "Jubilee Stronghold."
“I want to say without any fear or contradiction that matters pertaining to ODM are no more in this county after leaders who were the party’s pillar are now with us in Jubilee,” Tunai said.
