[Photo|PSCU]Deputy President William Ruto has said President Uhuru Kenyatta should be given space to assemble his government without interference.The Deputy President said it was the constitutional role of the President to appoint members of his Cabinet without fuss from any quarters.“As the Deputy President and the principal assistant of President Kenyatta, I want to tell all leaders elected under the Jubilee ticket to give our President the space to appoint members of the Cabinet and assemble his government without interference,” the DP said.Ruto was speaking days after President Kenyatta unveiled part of his Cabinet in absence of the DP.The move elicited different reactions with critics saying Ruto was missing since he differed with Uhuru over the cabinet slots.While making the announcement at State House, Kenyatta retained six cabinet secretaries; Henry Rotich (National Treasury), James Macharia (Transport and Infrastructure) Fred Matiang’i, (Interior and Co-ordination of National Government, and acting Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Education), Charles Keter (Energy), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and Najib Balala of Tourism.President nominated former Turkana Senator John Munyes, former Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani and former Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko to Cabinet.
