The attack at Deputy President William Ruto's Sugoi home was meant to cause disunity among Kenyans.
This is according to a statement the DP gave on Sunday.
Speaking at a church service at Ihura stadium in Murang'a, Ruto asked Kenyans to remain united amid the politics revolving around the attack.
"I know many people are aware that I had visitors yesterday.... but I want to say that those who think they will frustrate our unity or undermine our progress will not succeed," Ruto said at the installation of Bishop Timothy Gichere as the head Mount Kenya Central diocese.
"I want to ask all of us not be distracted by the schemes and designs of people who are against our unity and progress as a country," he said.
At the time of the said attack, Ruto was on a campaign spree in Trans-Nzoia County and none of his family members were at home.
