Machakos County Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) commissioner Peter Mutulu has shot at the Deputy President William Ruto for opposing calls for constitutional amendment.
Speaking in Mwala Sub County on Monday, Mutulu said Ruto has always opposed constitutional amendments without proper reasons.
"We are used to him and we didn't expect him to support the calls for constitutional changes," Mutulu said.
Mutulu said in 2010, the Deputy President was among the many politicians who casted a no vote in the referendum.
He made the statements after Ruto said there are more important issues that need intervention than a referendum.
Mutulu said there's need for referendum and whoever opposes the move is an enemy of the people.
He said leaders should stop castigating ODM chief Raila Odinga for joining forces with President Uhuru Kenyatta, citing that the doors aren't closed hence they too can follow suit.
"There's still room, swallow your pride and follow suit in joining the government. If not, better shut up and stop bickering," Mutulu added.
