Outspoken Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has accused Deputy President William Ruto of neglecting the South Rift despite the region voting the Jubilee administration overwhelmingly during the 2013 general elections.
Speaking on Saturday at Olmekenyu in Narok South, the Chama Cha Mashinani leader took a swipe on the Jubilee government, accusing the administration of failing to share national resources equitably.
"The DP went to Nairobi and forgot about the Mau forest issue. The other day, he said that the caveat was going to be lifted yet they do not come out clear," he said.
"They are telling us that they have never heard of NYS, Eurobond that robbed Kenyans billions of shillings. They have a short memory," he added.
The governor, a former ally of Ruto further dismissed claims by the Deputy President that he was out to divide the Kalenjin vote ahead of the August polls, noting that he is championing for the interests of his Kipsigis community.
"I have heard him (DP Ruto) claim that I am dividing the Kalenjin. I want to say that I am not dividing anybody but I’m championing for their rights," he said.
