The Kirinyaga residents who heckled the Deputy President William Ruto during his tour with governor Anne Waiguru at Gakoigo are set to face the law.
According to Kirinyaga county commissioner Mohammed Mbiriki, the investigation will continue adding that those involved in the dirty act are known by everyone because it happened in broad daylight.
He also added that they are only after the leaders and youths involved in the act and they will not take in any innocent person.
“Investigation will continue and we will not take in someone who is not guilty. Those who were involved are known by everybody because that dirty act happened in the broad daylight,” said the County Commissioner adding that, “We only want those youths and leaders who were involved in the planning of that dirty act.”
The deputy president was heckled last week when he called governor Waiguru to address the crowd at Gakoigo.
His speech was interrupted as the residents started chanting “Waiguru must go” forcing him to intervene. The governor has linked the unrest during the road commissioning with the Kirinyaga woman representative Purity Ngirici saying that the goons were hired by her.
According to Mohammed Mbiriki, four of the suspects are already in police custody.
