Deputy President William Ruto now says opposition leader Raila Odinga should drop his bid and prepare to face him in 2022 elections.

Odinga 72 is set for his forth stab at presidency after three unsuccessful attempts and will face President Uhuru Kenyatta in a rematch of 203 elections.

But in yet another jibe to Odinga, Ruto challenged opposition leaders to support Kenyatta and prepare to challenge him in 2022.

“I normally hear them say that I am the problem and Kenyatta is good. That will be perfect if Odinga drops and supports Kenyatta,” he said at Kiambu on Sunday.

The DP added: “They should prepare to face me in 2022 because I am equally ready for the task. That is the way to go and I am not scared at all.”

Having endorsed Uhuru’s reelection, Ruto has however not hesitated to make his 2022 presidential ambitions public by endorsing a number of his point’s men for various seats.

However, he is facing a hostile competition from his backyard given that Baringo senator Gideon Moi has announced his candidature.
