NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has attacked DP William Ruto for suggesting that the former is pushing for a coalition government.

Raila says that this has never been part of him even in 2007. The opposition chief stated that he was surprised at how DP William Ruto forgot easily about his role in the formation of the ‘Nusu Mkate’ government.

Speaking in Mombasa at Mama Ngina Drive after jetting in from the UK, Raila stated that Ruto was among ODM representatives who negotiated for a coalition government with Mwai Kibaki’s PNU. The MoU marked the end of post-election violence that saw over 6,000 people internally displaced and more than 1,000 killed.

"Ruto is so forgetful. He, alongside ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, Sam Ongeri, Kirinyaga gubernatorial candidate Martha Karua, Senator Moses Wetang'ula and the late Mutula Kilonzo, were the ones who sat in the talks. Raila Odinga was not present. How it turns that I wanted a coalition government is surprising," Raila said.

Raila said that he is the owner of the full loaf. He also claimed that the fear of International Criminal Court made Ruto to push for a coalition government.
