Meru Governor Peter Munya has sensationally claimed that Deputy President William Ruto is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s major undoing in his campaigns.
Both Kenyatta and Ruto are seeking reelection under Jubilee ticket and are set to face their main challenger Raila Odinga.
But Munya, who also chairs PNU party, says Uhuru’s reelection bid could be sabotaged should he fail to tame his deputy.
“The main undoing for Kenyatta is his deputy Ruto,” said Munya adding that Meru people will be faced to change allegiance to NASA should Uhuru fail to take an action.
He added: “He started in Rift Valley and now he is in Mt. Kenya where he is implanting projects like Kiraitu Murungi. We cannot allow his dirty politics.”
While Munya is facing stiff competition from Murungi, he has always maintained that his party will back Kenyatta’s reelection bid.
The DP has been at loggerheads with a section of Rift Valley leaders notably Gideon Moi, who has threatened to withdraw support for Uhuru should he fail to tame Ruto’s ‘unwarranted’ utterances targeting other leaders.
