Deputy President William Ruto has affirmed that the newly formed Jubilee Party will hold free and fair primaries.
Speaking on Tuesday at his Karen residence where he hosted a delegation of Kalenjin leaders, the Deputy President further dismissed allayed fears that the party nominations may be marred by chaos and violence, adding that the party's top brass is committed to ensuring that the process runs smoothly.
“One should not be worried about the nomination process because once you have convinced many voters in your respective areas to vote for you, then that’s all. Make it impossible for someone else to win by selling your policies to voters. By doing this you have nothing to worry about,” he said.
“But I want to assure you that the success of our party depends on competence, free and fairness. No one will be allowed to mismanage the process of nominations,” he added.
Ruto sits as Jubilee Party's Deputy Party leader, alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta who is the party leader.
