The outcome of the Jubilee nominations reflect the will and the wishes of the Jubilee Party membership, Deputy President William Ruto has said.

Speaking to Citizen TV on Sunday, Ruto said party nomination losers who are now mainly running as independents are just looking for a 'scapegoat' in blaming him for what happened."What you are noting going on is an exercise of people trying to find a scapegoat for what happened. And that is politics, it works like that," Ruto said.He added those dragging him into their nomination defeats just want to 'elevate' the war to attract sympathy votes."So all these people instead of fighting their competitors, they want to elevate the war so that they look like they are fighting a bigger person and try and earn some sympathy votes," added Ruto.Ruto also took a swipe at Meru Governor Peter Munya who has been vocal at criticising him over the events surrounding Meru gubernatorial race between him (Munya) and Jubilee candidate Kiraitu Murungi."In fact, I have had a chat with Munya on my phone and I am not afraid to say it on TV. I asked him, my friend, why are you recruiting me into these problems? And he said, my friend you know for me to have a credible fight, I need to up the stakes and blame it on a higher person so that I can look like am the victim. That is what he told me," the DP revealed.Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been leading the Central Kenya offensive against Ruto saying that he interfered with Jubilee nominations to lock out candidates perceived to be a threat to his 2022 presidential bid.
