Deputy President William Ruto has supported a move by Sudan's president Omar al Bashir to release political prisoners.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the DP said that the move was aimed at broadening the democratic space in the East African country.
"We welcome Khartoum’s move to broaden the democratic space by giving citizens space to voice political expression,” he said on his Facebook page.
Mr Ruto who is on a visit in Sudan is discussing how to improve agricultural relations between the two countries.
Already the Deputy Head of State has announced that BADEA's Director had agreed to lead construction of a sh 1.6 billion burns unit at Kenyatta National Hospital.
The Sudanese bank will also fund a cancer centre in Kisii County.
Yesterday Mr Ruto met with students studying in Sudan where he asked them to market the country as a tourist destination.
