Deputy President has hailed the Salaries and Remuneration Commission upon the exhaustion of its 6-year term.

Speaking when he attended the end-of-term ceremony for the salary oversight commission in Nairobi Tuesday,the DP congratulated it for its show of professionalism through out its tenure.

''We laud the Salaries and Remuneration Commission for its professionalism,high standards and commitment during its six-year tenure,'' he wrote in his twitter page.The deputy head of state also praised the commission for playing a major role in helping the nation manage its public wage bill,terming it as the force behind the nations ability to govern state employees pay and salaries,which in turn has led to increased morale and better services to the citizens.

''The SRC has put in place a framework to govern pay in public service,a fundamental step in our endeavor to manage the public wage bill.The harmonization of salaries in the public sector has ensured a motivated,stable and productive workforce,'' he says in another tweet.

SRC was established under the 2010 constitution and was tasked with,among others reviewing all matters relating to salaries of public officers and determining the salaries to be paid to state officers.
