At Jogoo Road, Uhuru referred to his deputy as a person roaming aimlessly, a move that forced State House to issue a clarification statement.

"Huyu kijana yangu Ruto yeye anatanga tanga kila pahali. Mkimwona hapa machorochoroni ambia yeye shida," said Uhuru.

It loosely translates to: "This young man Ruto walks around aimlessly. When you came across him, kindly share your problems with him."

So powerful were the remarks that even elicited sharp reactions on social media with a section of users accusing Uhuru of demeaning the DP.

And Ruto's lieutenants seems to have formed a movement out of the remarks dubbed 'Tanga Tanga Movement' in a bid to popularize the DP's presidential bid.

"Today, sisi tangatanga movement will be in Kisii town near your, launching various projects with H.E William Ruto, CS Simon Chelgui and Farouk Kibet," wrote South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro.

He added: "See you soon as we Tanga Tanga Movement , and we are not complaning, why should we?"

The youthful MP is lately working with the DP and its only last week the two held various rallies across Gusii region.
