Ruto has said that he has acquired all his wealth that include land through sheer hard work.

"If you think I have acquired anything illegally, I am not beyond the law," Ruto said during a lengthy interview on K24 TV.

Ruto, however, caused a humorous Twitter uproar when he said Nairobi is two million acres while defending himself against the allegations that he grabbed a one-acre piece of land in Karen belonging to Kenya Pipeline.

The DP also termed Cord leader Raila Odinga a 'bad loser' who has failed in blackmailing him and can now only paint him with 'bad names'.

"My friend Raila is a bad loser. When I supported him, I was a good person. All over sudden I have turned to be the high priest of corruption," said Ruto.

To those rivalling him in his Rift Valley backyard like Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, the DP had rather a cold message for them.

"Isaac Ruto has formed a village party. It is not even a Kalenjin party. I heard it has its headquarters in Siongiroi. Who knows where Siongiroi is? For Zakayo Cheruiyot who claims to have once taken me around the country in search of votes, has he ever left Kuresoi? Who knows what he is beyond Kuresoi?" he added.
