Deputy President William Ruto has said that he has fond memories of the great county of Kakamega because it is the county that gave him a wife.
Speaking during the 5th annual Devolution Conference in Kakamega, the Deputy President spoke well of the county saying that he has always had a good relationship with the people of Western Kenya.
“When you find your better half in a certain county, you obviously have fond memories and feelings about that county,” Ruto said.
The Deputy President spoke well of his wife, Rachel Chebet who hails from the county and who has on most occasions seen publicly getting on her knees to pray.
“He who finds a wife, finds a good thing,” the DP quoted the scripture amid cheers from the delegates.It is understood that the Deputy President William Ruto’s wife, Rachel is from the county and is also an alumnus of one of the best performing schools from the county, Butere Girls High School.
Since becoming the country’s second lady in April 2013, Rachel has been a champion of women empowerment in the country through officiating the Joyful Women Organization and has also been beside her husband throughout the period
