Deputy President William Ruto says Jubilee administration will ensure opposition leader Raila Odinga gets into payroll as a retiree once they get reelected in August.

Odinga, who is running for the fourth time, is involved in intensive campaigns across the country and has often promised to retire in 2022 should he take over.

And in a rather soft tone on Odinga, Ruto hailed his past contributions in the country but insisted that he needed a break from politics.

“I respect Odinga and I will ensure than he gets his retirement benefits because I am sure we will beat him again. It is not going to be business as usual.

“The only thing I can promise is that I will ensure he gets pension and subsequently payroll which is basically retirement. He should quit politics and do other things,” he told a gathering in Nyansiongo.

Having made three unsuccessful attempts to presidency, Odinga is hoping to use the alleged poor development record of Jubilee to ascend to power.

He is set to face President Uhuru Kenyatta in yet again another epic battle similar to what was witnessed in 2013.
