The cold relationship between the judiciary and the executive escalated on Friday when Deputy President William Ruto blamed courts for mega corruption scandals in the country.
In recent weeks, Chief Justice David Maraga has defended courts from onslaught waged by politicians.
"We are tied by the law and those saying that there is discrimination in courts are not fair. Judges are guided by the law," he said recently in a seminar with EACC.
This comes at a time when the country is grappling with mega corruption scandals including the mysterious Sh9 billion NYS money.
And during his trip to larger Gusii region on Friday, Ruto accused the courts of shielding corrupt cartels.
"We are worried by the recent move by suspects to seek anticipatory bails from the courts as this is derailing the fight against against graft," fired the DP.
While the Judiciary has accused a section of the executive for allegedly disowning court summons, the executive is not accusing the former of shielding corrupt people.
At the moment, President Uhuru Kenyatta is said to have incorporated NIS in handling corruption cases.
