Deputy president William Ruto has revealed who will deputise him in the event he becomes Kenya’s next president.
Ruto has expressed interest to vie for the presidency seat in 2022.
Speaking in Bungoma county, Monday, where he took Jubilee campaigns, the DP urged the Western region to re-elect him and president Uhuru Kenyatta.
In return, he promised the residents that he would choose Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa as his running mate in 2022.
Wamalwa, the brother to the late Kenya’s vice president Kijana Wamalwa, hails from Bungoma county.
“My friends, I ask you to support us as we are in this together. You have a realistic chance of winning. I will pick Eugene Wamalwa as my running mate and when I complete my term, I will support him to ascend to the top seat,” said Ruto.
Ruto further urged the locals not to vote for Opposition saying it was a losing team. He expressed confidence that Jubilee will win the August 8 polls.
“No one votes with the intention of losing. This is why you should vote for Jubilee as it is destined to win the next election because of its clear vision and agenda for this country,” Ruto added.
He also criticised the National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer Raila Odinga for having nothing to show to the residents in terms of development yet he was a Prime Minister for five years.
