In a swift move to solidify his support from among Abagusii community, DP William Ruto is said to have briefly met Governors John Nyagarama (Nyamira) and James Ongwae [Kisii}.
The Friday meeting lasted for thirty minutes in Kwale with Ruto reportedly persuading the duo to help him reach out to the entire Gusii people.
And according to the source who spoke in confidence, Ruto further pledged to work closely with the two, to implement their agenda before 2022 elections.
"He was eager to meet Ongwae and Nyagarama an indication that he could change his mode of politics," said the source.
The source further said: " He insisted need to work together to spur growth in Gusii region adding that the two should drop hard lines along party lines."
Evidently, despite the two being staunch NASA supporters, their respective counties are yet to pass the controversial People's Assembly Bill.
Political analyst Gideon Mamboleo says for Ruto to make an impact among Gusii people, he has no 'choice' other than reaching the two county bosses.
"They are in power and Raila Odinga will be out of equation. He has no choice other than reaching them."
Other than Jubilee elected MPs from the larger Gusii region, Ruto is also said to be reaching out to populist Borabu MP Ben Momanyi for supprt.
