Deputy President William Ruto has spoken hours after the repeat election kicked off in parts of the country. While speaking in Turbo, Uasin Gishu county, Ruto commended those who turned out to exercise their rights to vote and those who exercised their rights as well not to vote."I want to thank Kenyans who I have seen in many parts of our country who have woken up very early, stood in the queues to be able to exercise their democratic rights to vote and choose leaders and the policies and priorities of our country," Ruto said.The DP also said this repeat election was another priority for Kenyans to elect the leader of their choice and make Kenya great again. He urged Kenyans to be proud of the country despite the current situation."This is yet another moment for all of us Kenyans to be proud of our country. Those who will elect to vote and those who will elect not to vote. We all remain a Kenyan people and a people that have the opportunity to choose what we think is good for us." He added.DP Ruto congratulated people from his constituency for voting wisely during the August 8 elections and asked elected MCAs, MPs and Governor to work with aim of bringing development to their subjects.

He said it was unfortunate that voting exercise was not underway in some parts of the country following the call by Opposition Chief Raila Odinga for supporters to stay at home.
