On Monday 3, Deputy President William Ruto took Jubilee Party campaigns in Bungoma county a perceived NASA stronghold with a promise that might sway the Mulembe nation to rally behind Uhuru's reelection bid.
Ruto talked of the 2022 presidential race where he promised to return the favor to the Western region by picking water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa as his running mate.

You have a realistic chance of winning. I will pick Eugene as my running mate and when I complete my term, I will support him to ascend to the top seat,” he said.The former Eldoret North MP maintained he would unite various tribes to ensure they are fully represented in Government.The DP further urged the county to rally behind Jubilee since NASA is not winning the August 8, polls.

“No one votes with the intention of losing. This is why you should vote for Jubilee as it is destined to win the next election because of its clear vision and agenda for this country,” said Ruto.
During the rally, Ruto also announced that Bungoma North district had been split to create a new Tongaren district.
