The Deputy President William Ruto has condemned leaders who are pushing for constitutional amendments to create more political posts to accommodate unelected politicians.
Speaking in Kakamega county during a ceremony to welcome the Education CS Amina Muhammed, the deputy president censured the politicians who thinks about dialogue to amend the constitution after being elected in order to create positions for unelected politicians.
He also questioned that if the politicians plan to amend the constitution for a few people to get jobs, when will the rest of the millions of Kenyans get employed.
“When elected and has occupied the office, we start thinking of a new dialogue to amend the constitution to create new administrative positions for two or three people. If we plan for two or three people to get jobs, when will the millions of hustlers find a job?” decried William Ruto.
This comes after the push by several members of the National Assembly to have the post of Prime Minister back.
The Tiaty Member of Parliament Hon. Kassait Kamket drafted a bill seeking to amend the constitution in order to accommodate the office of the Prime Minister who will be the head of government.
