Deputy President William Ruto is optimistic Jubilee will retain power after next month’s repeat presidential election.

Speaking on Friday when Jubilee took its re-election campaigns to Busia County, Ruto said NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga lost the nullified August 8 poll, adding that he stands no chance of beating President Uhuru Kenyatta in the repeat election slated for October 26, 2017.

"There is no way Raila can defeat Uhuru. We have no doubt we will trounce him again during the repeat poll with an even wider margin," said Ruto.

The DP, who was accompanied by the President, accused NASA leaders of planning to sabotage the fresh election after sensing defeat.

"Raila lost in the August polls and now he fears losing for a second time. He is yet to come to terms with the reality and that is why he is blaming everybody for his heavy defeat," Ruto added.

The Jubilee leaders were accompanied by Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, Water CS Eugene Wamalwa, former MPs Paul Otuoma (Funyula), Ababu Namwamba (Budalang'i) among others.
