Deputy President William Ruto is reportedly seeking audience with NASA principal Raila Odinga, a top ODM official has revealed.
Amid tension within Jubilee over cabinet nominations, Ruto is said to have reached Raila through a senior NASA lawyer over the weekend.
"I can confirm that he (Ruto) wants to meet with Raila but I can't speculate on the agenda they may discuss," said the official who spoke in confidence.
He added: "One of our lawyers is working on the meeting and I don't think it is a big issue. They are friends and can meet at any time."
Although the specific date and venue of the meeting has not been set, he says, the agenda of the unique meeting remains scanty.
Over the week, the DP denied rift between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta despite snubbing a state house meeting where a few cabinet secretaries were unveiled.
Political analyst Gideon Mamboleo says the planned meeting would 'define' Ruto's political future.
"He has a vision and is quite aware of the importance of working with Raila. And also, he could have been sent with Uhuru but nevertheless, the meeting will define his future."
