Raila Odinga should either participate in October elections or voluntarily bolt out, says Deputy President William Ruto.
Uncertainty has eclipsed preparations for October 26th polls with a defiant Odinga threatening to boycott should IEBC fail to sack a number of officials.
At Nandi, a visibly agitated warned that his side of political divide is not fugitives in the country, dismissing Odinga’s threats as cheap and unfocused.
“He is telling us that we shall not have elections. I wonder when he became IEBC. The options are quite clear; he either participates or bolts out.
“We are not refugees I our country to be subjected to intimidation and blackmail from him. Kenya can still move on without him,” he said.
The country may plunge to unprecedented constitutional crisis should IEBC fail to hold elections within 60 days as per the constitution.
Should Odinga boycott, the legitimacy of the elections bring about a tough court battle based on previous Supreme Court precedents that to some extent, dictates that a petitioner must be part ogf a fresh election in the event a previous one is nullified.
