Political leaders from Homa Bay county have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to exclude his deputy president William Ruto during his visit to the county.
Reports indicate the president could visit the county, which is perceived to be Raila Odinga’s stronghold, in a few weeks time.
Led by Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang’, the leaders said Uhuru is welcomed in the region to campaign for his re-election. They however cautioned him not to go with Ruto.
“I have been informed that the president is soon visiting this county. We welcome him but he should exclude Ruto in his entourage,” said Kajwang’.
Kajwang who spoke, Sunday, in Homa Bay town, did not reveal why Uhuru’s DP was not welcomed in the county.
Home Bay county Jubilee co-coordinator Odhiambo Makowiti and Karachuonyo MP James Rege faulted the ODM senator for perpetrating prejudice.
During the tour, Uhuru is likely to commission a number of national government projects.
