Deputy President William Ruto  has said the government will decisively deal with those destroying and looting private property in the name of political protests.

Speaking on Sunday, DP Ruto warned that those found culpable would be dealt with according to the law irrespective of their social status.

He was speaking at St Mark’s ACK Church, Mukui Parish in Kabete, the DP called on Kenyans to respect the Constitution and warned that the government would no longer condone lawlessness in the country in the name of “democracy”.

He said the government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta swore to protect the lives and property of very citizen and hence nothing would deter the Jubilee administration from the same.

“It is our constitutional responsibility as a government to protect the lives and property of all Kenyans and I want to assure you that the destruction and anarchy which was witnessed on Friday last week will never happen again”, he said.

Ruto said he and the President-elect Uhuru were waiting for the Supreme Court ruling and noted that the case should be concluded for the country to move forward.

“Tomorrow (today) we believe and have faith that the country will open a new chapter and start moving forward so that the government can fulfill its commitment fulfill the aspiration of Kenyans which includes electricity, clean water, roads, free education and better health,” said Ruto.
