Deputy President William Ruto has said the Jubilee government will not condone rogue and lazy contractors.
Ruto speaking in Siakago, Embu County during the burial ceremony of Virginia Njoka, mother to the National Assembly Speaker Justine Muturi said road contractors who will fail to complete work within a stipulated time will be blacklisted.
“Rogue, lazy and unqualified contractors especially those working on roads under the national government will not be condoned. Road projects should be completed in time failure to which the contractors will be blacklisted and no one will award road tenders to such contractors,” he said.
DP Ruto said the Jubilee government is committed to improve road infrastructures across the country to ease transportation of people and goods to the markets.
“Good road network is among the 4 big agendas the Jubilee government is committed to implement in this country to ensure Kenyans and motorists access various regions without any locomotive difficulties. Road contractors must work around the clock once given road tenders to finish the road projects in time without being pushed around,” he noted.
Ruto added that allocation of road tenders will be done fairly and transparently with youths getting a top priority.
He pleaded with MPs at the constituency level to utilize public funds well to complete various projects in their respective areas of administration.
